Instructor Certification
 Through Instructor Certification and Recertification Training, Instructors gain the specialized knowledge and tools they need to plan, deliver, and evaluate a successful outcome-focused School’s Cool program. Certification is current for 2 years.
Instructor Certification Training
In addition to understanding the philosophy of School’s Cool, and learning how to set up and deliver the School’s Cool curriculum, participants learn about:
- Being a “facilitator of learning”
- Effective “team teaching”
- Identifying and building child strengths
- Outcome-focused curriculum
- Using the School’s Cool Developmental Checklist as a planning, evaluation and communication tool
- Recognizing, observing and tracking children’s skill development
- Adopting and applying a solution-focused approach
- Basic strategies for dealing with difficult behaviours
- Encouraging parental involvement in children’s education
- Communication strategies that engage parents
- Building healthy foundations for long term parent/school partnerships
Instructor Recertification Training
Recertification Training enhances Instructor knowledge and skills, promoting program efficiencies and optimal outcomes. In addition to skill development, Recertification Training provides Instructors with the opportunity to network, share successes and challenges and learn from others’ experiences.
School’s Cool in K Overview
Keeping other school staff, superintendents, and community partners, informed and familiar with your kindergarten School’s Cool program helps to enhance program support and overall outcomes. This short orientation provides participants with an overview of School’s Cool in K – what it is, how it’s different, expected outcomes and anticipated spin-offs for the school. This overview is not Instructor Training.
